This Is Molly and her story.
It’s a simple story, really. Ride bike Dec 06, fall down. Ow, ow, ow! Surgery #1 Mar 07 (arthroscopic cleanup and lateral release of patella). Lots more bike riding. Knee is really loose, so Surgery #2 Oct 07 (PCL reconstruction with allograft, MCL repair). Developed arthrofibrosis, so Surgery #3 Mar 08 (manipulation under anesthesia with removal of lots and lots of scar tissue). Nice tight knee. Pretty new Breg brace. More bike riding. This photo was taken 4 months post-MUA after 64 miles on the bike. Tibia itching and aching, so Surgery #4 Sept 08 (tibia screw removal). More bike riding. PCL disintegrating! Knee very loose now: PCL 2+ laxity. Rats!

Thank you, Pam, for posting my tiny tale of woe. It was a long haul! Your blog kept me motivated and the friendship we've developed is important to me. For anyone that is interested, I kept a journal of my experiences. It details what happened and gives tips on how to prepare for this monster surgery, recovery, and rehab. If you want to read it, email me at molly dot hickman at comcast dot net.
You are so close to 5000! Do you remember how bad it hurt right after the surgery? I can't remember the actual feeling anymore, only that it was the most painful thing I've ever felt. Sorry to all of you getting ready to go through this. It's doable, but painful.
A picture is worth a thousand words. If you scroll to the very beginning of my blog and see the picture of me in bed, then I'm pretty sure seeing it, will refresh your memory of what we went through. I'll never forget that pain and I'll never forget all the encouragement by you, my blog friends, my rehab team doctor and donor family.
I've been invited to speak for the hospital and tissue donor org. Details to come as I get them.
Close to 5,000 hits. This is truly exciting.
Anyone out there with a story and wants to share it through this blog, please contact me. Pictures would be great but not required.
Thanks everyone and a big hug to You Molly.
