Seven Months Post Op PCL Surgery And Recovery

I had hoped to say I was running but I'm still struggling with pain around my knee cap. I'm waiting for the orthovisc to be authorized. My rehab has been cut to two days per week. Fridays exercises sent me to bed with ice packs again. The pain on and around my knee cap was unexpected and high level.
Seems like I'm getting used to getting around better without my brace but going down the stairs is still a struggle.
Last range of motion was 137 degrees.
Stayed tuned, I haven't given up and I hope you don't either.

Hey Skinnygurl,

What is the holdup with your orthovisc injection? So sorry you have had to wait so long. I work in health care at a large medical center and we don't need any special authorization for synvisc or orthovisc. The orthopedic surgeons frequently offer this therapy without having to wait for insurance approval. Have you tried calling the insurance company directly to ask if approval is needed and if so, the guidelines/process?
Best of luck to you.

I was searching for articles or any journals about PCL recovery and I found your blog right away.

I just had my PCL surgery and it's been 7 days now. Thanx to you, now I see the clear picture of what's waiting in the next phase of my life.

I am a rugby player and 've been survive the injury for 2 years until the pain started to kick-in recently. No other choise, surgery is my only option if i were to play again.

I hope you'll keep updating as I am following your progress. And Im blogging about my day t00 starting from today.

See how many people are being helped by this site? On this special Thanksgiving Day (almost 13 months post-reconstruction), I am thankful to walk normally again, with confidence and strength. And without pain.

Hey there, sorry for the late reply.
Momofsprinter, the orthovisc was denied due to the expense along with other red tape. Sadly I had to give up on that months ago. I have bigger fish to fry at this point.

Good to see you too Devil. Keep posting your progress. Seems we're getting more and more people on here which is awesome!!

Molly, what can I say? Thanks for all your help. Please keep it up!!
